Hope you all had a great
Christmas and New Years. We’ll start 2011 off
with an easy block.
This is simply made from
rectangles. And if you choose to color
coordinate, you can do some speed sewing and
cutting, or it’s a great stash buster.
Cut 12 – 3 ½” X 6 ½”
rectangles.

Sew two rectangles together
on the long sides (figure 1)

Sew 1 rectangle across the
top of the other two (figure 2)

Now make three more and sew
them together. Now you can make this
totally coordinated by using only 3 colors .(figure 3)

This would also allow you
to do some speed sewing and
cutting by sewing 3
½” X 44” strips and then cutting them down to 6
½” in length. (Figure 4)

You can make this
semi-scrappy but using one fabric throughout
that goes
across the top and the
other two fabrics are scrappy.
You can make this totally
scrappy but using all different fabrics (Figure
5)
Hope to see you at our next
sew date! If you can’t make it and want to send
us your blocks send them to:
